Alcudiamar recognized in Monaco as the most sustainable and intelligent marina

The Alcudiamar marina has received the award for the most sustainable and intelligent marina, presented at the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous 2024.

The Monaco Yacht Club witnessed the celebration of the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous 2024, the international networking and debate event that brought together various players from the global superyacht industry in the Principality on September 22 and 23. Architecture firms, start-ups, marinas, associations of captains, and technology and sustainable solutions companies gathered to share experiences and knowledge in Monaco, proclaimed as the “Capital of Advanced Yachting.”

Alcudiamar was present for the first time at this meeting, which celebrated its fourth edition this year. Mar Vera, Head of Expansion and Sustainable Development at Alcudiamar, participated in the roundtable discussion “How can technology optimize unique nautical experiences?”, which debated how innovation and new applications can enhance navigation experiences and communication between users and marinas, among other aspects. The panel also included Kelly Gordon, an American yacht captain, Stavros Katsikadis, CEO of the prestigious Marina Flisvos and president of the Association of Greek Marinas, and Randy Durband, CEO of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, an NGO created by the United Nations, and an expert in tourism.

As a culmination of these two days of debate and networking, the Smart & Sustainable Marina Awards 2024 were presented. Alcudiamar was awarded in the category of the most sustainable and intelligent marina. The jury that granted this award included Bernard D’Alessandri (Secretary General of the Yacht Club de Monaco and President of the Yachting Cluster Monaco), José Marco Casellini (CEO of Monaco Marina Management), Irina Maria Peterson (Founder of Ocean Amazon), Fabiana Maccarini (Senior Consultant & Doctor in Geotechnical Engineering), Patrick Troin (Superyacht Captain), Oscar Siches (member of Global Marine Business Advisers), Luis Balbin (Superyacht Captain), and Adolfo Oria (Superyacht Captain).
