Alcudiamar has received special recognition for its significant financial contribution to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). This contribution, channelled through the Rotary Club of Inca, made it possible to create and equip a new rest area for oncology patients and their families at the Inca Regional Hospital.

The facility, inaugurated last July, is located in the Medical Hospitalisation Unit II and forms part of the hospital’s humanisation project.

Thanks to this collaboration, the hospital now has a space designed to provide comfort, calm, and support for those accompanying patients undergoing treatment or extended hospital stays. Health authorities have highlighted that “initiatives like this help reduce stress and anxiety, improving the experience of patients and their families during their time at the hospital.”

The recognition ceremony, held at Alcudiamar’s headquarters, was attended by the Provincial President of the AECC, Mr José Reyes, and the President of the Alcúdia Local Board, Ms Ángela Bosch, who publicly thanked Alcudiamar for its involvement in a project that has a direct impact on the community. Also present was Mr Bartomeu Bestard, President and CEO of Alcudiamar, representing the organisation.

Bartomeu Bestard expressed his gratitude to the AECC for the recognition and added: “For Alcudiamar, it is an honour to contribute to improving the quality of life of those going through such a delicate process as cancer. This recognition motivates us to continue promoting initiatives that bring wellbeing and support to our community.”

With this distinction, Alcudiamar reaffirms its commitment to solidarity initiatives and to strengthening projects that contribute to the wellbeing of the population, especially individuals and families affected by oncological disease.
