This is a pioneering event in the Bay of Alcúdia, with a strong social and charitable focus. It has the institutional support of Alcudiamar, the Alcúdia Town Council, the Balearic Port Authority, and the Maritime Captaincy, as well as the official sponsorship of MarSenses Hotels & Homes.
The presentation took place at 12:30 p.m. and was attended by the Mayor of Alcúdia, Josefina Linares; the President and CEO of Alcudiamar, Bartomeu Bestard; the Director of Communication and Projects at Projecte Home Balears, Antoni Parets; and Juan Mesquida, Creative and Brand Director of MarSenses Hotels & Homes. During the event, the main goal of the regatta was highlighted: to bring together sport and tourism with the social and charitable values of Projecte Home Balears, especially in its work on addiction treatment and prevention aimed at the youngest and most vulnerable members of society.
The regatta, intended for ORC/RI cruising yachts, will be held over two days, Saturday, May 23rd, and Sunday, May 24th. On that same Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., an institutional brunch will take place at Alcudiamar, aimed at partner organizations in appreciation of their support and also open to media outlets wishing to cover the sporting event.
The organizers also wished to make special mention of the official sponsorship of MarSenses Hotels & Homes, which has once again renewed its commitment to this charitable event.
Likewise, special note should be made of the regatta’s original and exclusive trophy, which will be awarded to the winning boat, although it will only become its permanent property if it wins three consecutive editions or five non-consecutive ones. The prize-giving ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 24, at 8:00 p.m. at Alcudiamar.
Alongside the competition, various activities open to the public will also be organized, such as workshops, paddle surfing, kayaking, and games, with the aim of bringing the regatta closer to the local community and encouraging family participation.
Registration for the regatta is now open at the following link: www.alcudiamar.es/es/port/prensa/.
