Yesterday, Thursday, October 2nd, the presentation of the “La historia de un puerto, el sueño de un pueblo” took place, a project that is born with the desire of explaining the corporate evolution of Alcudia, and at the same time honoring people who have formed part of the history of its sporting port and all the community that surrounds it.

The book collects interviews to 30 people of different sectors of the company and culture that has decisively contributed to the economic and social transformation of the municipality of Alcudia. In the words of Bartomeu Bestard, Alcudiamar’s President, “it’s a tribute to all of them. To the ones who dreamt, to the ones who built and to the ones who keep believing that Alcudia is much more than a touristic destination: it’s a way of living, remembering and projecting the future”.

In addition to the own main characters of the book, its relatives and neighbors of Alcuida, the event had the presence of members of the consistory of Alcudia’s Town Hall, led by her mayoress Fina Linares.

During the event, a round table in which some main characters of the book intervened, such as María José Aguiló (Executive vicepresident of the FEHM – Mallorca’s Hotel Company Federation), Antoni Mir (Asesoría Mir Llompart) and Ceferina San Pedro (Fonda Llabrés), took place. Luisa Caldentey, President of Alcúdia Solidària, entity to which the income obtained with the book’s sale will go to, specially to its initiative: “Aula de la Mar”, an educational project directed to families of artisanal fishmongers in vulnerability situation in the creek of La Tortuga, in Piura (Perú), took the word.

The book will be on sale during the Fira d’Alcúdia (from October 3rd to 5th), specifically at the Can Torró library, during its usual opening hours.
