The Board of Directors of the Balearic Port Authority (APB) has agreed to appoint Alberto del Pino Rivera as the new delegate for the ports of Ibiza and La Savina, after he successfully completed the corresponding public selection process launched to fill this position. With this appointment, the APB strengthens the management of two of the key port infrastructures in the Pityusic Islands by bringing in a professional with extensive technical and management experience in the port and maritime engineering sectors.

A Civil Engineer specialising in Roads, Canals and Ports from the University of Granada, Del Pino also holds a Master’s degree in Port Engineering and Management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and a Master’s degree in Occupational Risk Prevention from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Throughout his career, he has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in the port sector and in maritime construction projects, both nationally and internationally.

He began his professional career as Technical Director at PUYAT S.A., where he was responsible for the technical management of projects for ACUSUR (Aguas de la Cuenca del Sur). He later took on port management roles as Director of Estepona Marina and Technical Director of Marina del Este and Puerto de la Duquesa, both belonging to the Marinas del Mediterráneo group.

Between 2010 and 2025, he was part of the international group Van Oord, where he participated in various port and coastal regeneration projects in southern Europe, gaining solid experience in the planning and execution of maritime infrastructure. Since November 2025, he has served as Head of Maritime Works at Adiante Infraestructuras.

Del Pino also takes part in technical forums and international working groups linked to the maritime-port sector, including the Spanish-Portuguese group Positive Aspects of Dredging of the Technical Association of Ports and Coasts (ATYPC), and he is a member of the Environmental Commission of the Central Dredging Association (CEDA), an organisation that promotes knowledge exchange in dredging and maritime works.

With this appointment, the APB continues to strengthen the management, planning and sustainable development of the ports of Ibiza and La Savina, two strategic infrastructures for the connectivity, economy and maritime activity of the Pityusic Islands.
