AGENDA from September 19th to the 21st: competition and fun return with the Ibiza JoySail 2025

To help you make the most of what the Mediterranean has to offer this week, here’s a roundup of the most notable events taking place.

Yesterday, Thursday 18th of September, the fifth edition of the Ibiza Joysail, one of the most awaited superyacht regattas in the Mediterranean international nautical calendar, kicked off. It is an event organized by Marina Ibiza, which will last until this Sunday, September 21st.

MALLORCA

• LLATINA AND MESTRAL // (from July 11th to September 28th) – Organized by: Museu Marítim de Mallorca (+ info)

Description: The Maritime Museum of the Port of Sóller gathers from July 11th to September 28th the pictoric project that Alberto Baraya has developed aboard the Brandó, a traditional Mallorcan llaüt.

• GREAT SEAFOOD PARTY // (from September 5th to the 28th) – Organized by: Maris Galicia (+ info)

Description: The Nou Llevant de Palma hosts a great gastronomic fair with Galician fresh fish, wine, music and tradition. 

• LA PESCA ARTESANAL A CABRERA: UNA HISTÒRIA DE MAR I TRADICIÓ // (September 19th) – Organized by: Centro de Visitantes del Parque Nacional de Cabrera (+ info)

Description: The Visitors centre of Cabrera’s National Park will host a session carried out by Jaume Amengual, fishmonger, teacher and nautical artisan, who will share his experience and knowledge about traditional fishing in the archipelago.

• BALEARIC DISTANT FISHING CHAMPIONSHIP // (from September 19th to 20th) – Organized by: Marina Cala d’Or (+ info)

Description: The islands’ fishmongers will gather in waters of Mallorca to compete in this distant fishing championship. 

• TROBADES // (September 20th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s’Arenal (+ info)

Description: The traditional regattas for cruising boats of the club return. 

• DOGGIE RACE // (September 20th) – Organized by: Port Adriano (+ info)

Description: Port Adriano hosts the fifth edition of this dog race with the objective of getting funds for the Peluditos de Son Reus Association.

• SHEEP CUP CALVIÀ OWS // (September 20th) – Organized by: Club de Natación de Calvià (+ info)

Description: Port Adriano hosts the last phase of the first edition of the Sheep Cup Calvià OWS, a sporting event that will reunite swimmers and water polo players.

• PEPE BELLVER MEMORIAL TROPHY // (from September 20th to 21st) – Organized by: Real Club Náutico de Palma (+ info)

Description: The club celebrates another edition of this regatta for ORC and ORC A2 cruising boats.

• WING SERIES // (from September 20th to 21st) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (+ info)

Description: Wingfoil class gathers at la Ràpita to participate in an exciting competition session. 

• 80 TO 100 MILES REGATTA // (from September 20th to 21st) – Organized by: Real Club Náutico de Palma and Club Nàutic de Ciutadella (+ info)

Description: Cruising yachts ORC and ORC A2 will depart from the port of Ciutadella towards the island of Aire, passing by Faralló d’Albarca, and return to the port of Ciutadella.

• TOMÁS DARDER TROPHY // (from September 20th to 21st) – Organized by: Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa (+ info)

Description: The club hosts this highly anticipated event for sailors in the Optimist and Optimist D classes.

IBIZA

• IBIZA JOYSAIL // (from September 18th to 21st) – Organized by: STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza (+ info)

Description: One of the most awaited superyacht regattas of the international nautical calendar returns.

• WORLD CLEAN UP DAY // (September 20th) – Organized by: Ajuntament de Sant Josep de sa Talaia (+ info)

Description: The City Council is organizing a beach cleanup day at Cala Tarida on the occasion of World Cleanup Day.

FORMENTERA

• S’ESTANY JUNIOR ROUNDABOUT // (September 20th) – Organized by: Club de Surf de Formentera (+ info)

Description: Windsurf and Techno sailors in the Sub13 and Sub15 categories will sail around s'Estany des Peix.

• FORMENTERA WINDSURF ROUNDABOUT // (September 21st) – Organized by: Club de Surf de Formentera (+ info)

Description: The iQFOiL, Open Foil, Raceboard, Wingfoil, Windsurf, and Bic Techno classes will complete a course around the island of Formentera.
