AGENDA from October 17th to 23rd: Portitxol, national location of moored ships

To help you make the most of what the Mediterranean has to offer this week, here’s a roundup of the most notable events taking place.

The best anchored boat fishing teams from each autonomous community will gather at Club Nàutic Portitxol to compete in the 40th Spanish Championship of Regional Teams. The competition will take place from Friday, October 17th, to Sunday, October 19th, in a catch-and-release format.

MALLORCA

Description: 24 boats from 13 countries are sailing this week in the Bay of Palma to compete for the European title in a class that is rapidly gaining popularity in Europe and the United States.

Description: On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Santanyí expedition around Mallorca in 1899, the Palma Public Library presents the documentary “Nova Volta.”

• “CAPTURA Y SUELTA” SPAIN CHAMPS // (from October 17th to 19th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Portitxol (+ info)

Description: Fishermen gather at Portitxol to take part in the National Championship of Regional Teams in the absolute “catch and release” category, a competition that counts towards the 2026 World Championship.

• ARENAL - SA RÀPITA - ARENAL TROPHY // (October 18th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s’Arenal (+ info)

Description: The club kicks off the first leg of this ORC cruiser regatta, which will consist of sailing from Club Nàutic s’Arenal to Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, with the return to s’Arenal scheduled for October 26th.

Description: Cruiser boats and Flying Fifteen will take part in a regatta of the club’s Autumn League.

Description: The club initiates the first regatta of their league for cruisers.

Description: The 2nd Sailor Fair, organized by the Town Hall of Andratx with the collaboration of Club de Vela Port d’Andratx, will combine nautical transition, cultural sportive and gastronomic activities.

Descripción: Sailors in the Optimist and Optimist D classes will compete in Porto Cristo waters in a regatta that counts toward the Mallorca Optimist ranking.

Description: The sailing club is hosting the Visit Andratx Trophy as part of the II Fira Marinera, a regatta for ORC cruiser boats that is part of one of Mallorca’s most important sailing leagues.
