To help you make the most of what the Mediterranean has to offer this week, here’s a roundup of the most notable events taking place.

This week, the ports and nautical clubs of the islands are filled with activity once more with proposals for all publics: from gastronomic events such as the Sardine Fair or the 'Caragolada' of the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita to competitions such as the Sailing Week or the Pollensa Wingfoil Weekend, going through fishing sessions, cultural activities, family encounters and sports session by the sea.

MALLORCA

  • SAILING WEEK // (from May 9th to the 17th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Cala Gamba (+ info)

Description: Sailors from the ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 classes and Lateen Sailing will participate in the second part of this regatta, which qualifies for the ILCA 6 Federation Cup and the ABCIO Cup of the Balearic Sailing Federation. 

  • SARDINE FAIR // (May 15th) – Organized by: Consell de Mallorca (+ info)

Description: Mallorca celebrates a new edition of this traditional fair to put into vlue the sardine, a local, healthy, sustainable product rooted to the gastronomic tradition of the Balearic Islands.

  • COLÒNIA SANT PERE - CIUTADELLA JOURNEY // (May 15th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Sant Pere (+ info)

Description: Cruising boats will carry out a journey from Colònia de Sant Pere to Ciutadella.

  • SNIPE AND OK DINGHY BALEARIC ISLANDS CHAMPIONSHIP // (from May 15th to the 17th) – Organized by: Club de Mar Mallorca (+ info)

Description: The club hosts the insular championship for the crews of the Snipe and OK Dinghy classes.

  • 6 POINTS CHALLENGE // (from May 15th to the 17th) – Organized by: Port Adriano (+ info)

Description: The entity organizes two cycling routes: 6Points Mountains, a route of 420 km in three days by the four edges of the islands and its six highest and lowest points, with 7.500 m of accumulated unevenness, and 6Points Valleys, of 340 km and 4.182 m of unevenness, which combines three mountain peaks and three monasteries, with the possibility of joining already prepared groups or participating with your own equipment.

  • YOGA MASTERCLASS // (May 16th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (+ info)

Description: The club will launch its new social building with a free yoga masterclass directed by Maria Monserrat, a member of the club, a one hour session open to all levels and exclusive for adults, members and family.

  • SAILOR KING'S TRAINING LEAGUE // (May 16th) – Organized by: Real Club Náutico de Palma (+ info)

Description: The second day of the club’s new and revolutionary regatta begins, a competition with an innovative, dynamic, and disruptive format inspired by football’s Kings League.

  • BOTTOM FISHING SESSION // (May 16th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Portitxol (+ info)

Description: The club will host a new deep-sea fishing session, a modality that involves fishing with gear close to the seabed, and will offer a fish broth rice dish to participants upon their return.

  • 3RD NOU CIUTAT DE LLUCMAJOR // (May 16th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s’Estanyol (+ info)

Description: ORC cruising boats gather at s’Estanyol to compete in this traditional competition. 

  • BOVER CIRCUS // (May 16th) – Organized by: Museu Marítim de Mallorca (+ info)

Description: The museum hosts a show that blends contemporary circus and dance in a performance inspired by the sea, the art of sailing and the tradition of Lateen sailing.

  • SARDINE FAIR // (May 16th) – Organized by: Museu Marítim de Mallorca (+ info)

Description: Els Molls de Pescadors de Palma will host children workshops within the benchmark of the Sardine Fair.

  • IBERDROLA LEAGUE // (from May 16th to the 17th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s'Arenal (+ info)

Description: The club hosts the third session of the female sailing league, which will have the participation of 11 teams.

  • AQUILES DE VITA TROPHY // (from May 16th to the 17th) – Organized by: Marina Port d’Andratx (+ info)

Description: The port of Andratx hosts the two last sessions of the Two Stations League for cruising boats.

  • SPANISH DRAGON CUP // (from May 16th to 17th) – Organized by: Balearic Canoeing Federation (+ info)

Description: Paddlers gather in waters of Alcúdia to compete in the National Championship of Dragon Boat, a team canoeing modality with Chinese origin and that is more than 2000 years old.

  • HIVERN FAN MALLORCA SHOPPING TROPHY // (from May 16th to 17th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Cala Gamba (+ info)

Description: Lateen sailing boats will compete in the fifth session of the 32nd edition of the Hivern Trophy.

  • POLLENSA WINGFOIL WEEKEND // (from May 16th to 17th) – Organized by: Reial Club Nàutic del Port de Pollença (+ info)

Description: The Pollença Foil Week returns with a new edition that will reunite action, speed and technique in the DockStart, WingFoil Racing and KiteFoiling categories.

  • CARAGOLADA // (May 17th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (+ info)

Description: The club will launch the first floor of their new social building, the Ponent Room, with their traditional Caragolada, a gastronomic session open to members and non-members will have a menu ellaborated by the Forn de Ca’n Pau.

  • ISLA RACE // (from May 16th to the 17th) – Organized by: Port Adriano (+ info)

Description: The entity organizes an obstacle course between 6 and 12 kilometres for the little ones and a session of the National League of Obstacle Courses for adults, in addition to trophies by categories, sports ambince and a special gastronomic offer.

Description: With motive of the International Museums Day, the Museu de la Mar of the Port of Sóller hosts a familiar activity of narration and workshops regarding the legend of Sant Ramon de Penyafort.

  • INVIERNO RCNP A2 TROPHY // (May 17th) – Organized by: Real Club Náutico de Palma (+ info)

Description: 21 cruising boats gather in Mallorcan waters to take part in the second session of this regatta.

  • CONFLUÈNCIES: ART I NAVEGACIÓ // (from May 18th to the 19th) – Organized by: Museu Marítim de Mallorca (+ info)

Description: Es Baluard and the Museu Marítim de Mallorca celebrate International Museum Day with “Confluences: Art and Navigation,” a cross-visit that connects contemporary art and maritime heritage through the sea as a space of dialogue, movement, and cultural encounter.

  • 2ND BLUE WEEKD // (from May 18th to June 18th) – Organized by: Consell de Mallorca (+ info)

Description: More than 5,000 fifth- and sixth-grade primary school students from the islands will take part in this program of activities, which encourages the practice of water sports, promotes maritime culture, and raises awareness among young people about the protection of the marine environment, while also fostering healthy lifestyle habits. 

MENORCA

  • INTERCLUB TROPHY // (from May 16th to the 17th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic de Ciutadella (+ info)

Description: ORC cruising boats will compete in this race, which counts towards the Balearic ORC Ranking and will bring together sailing, competition, and passion for the sea in a unique setting.
