AGENDA from July 31st to August 7th: the summer festivities of the Club Nàutic Portitxol begin

To help you make the most of what the Mediterranean has to offer this week, here’s a roundup of the most notable events taking place.

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 1st, Club Nàutic Portitxol will kick off its traditional summer festivities with an anchored fishing competition, followed by a ‘trempó’ snack. This opening event marks the start of a full programme of family-friendly activities that will take place throughout the month of August. 

MALLORCA

• THE SUNSET MARKET // (from July 15th to August 13th) – Organized by: Puerto Portals (+ info)

Description: The organisation is hosting a new edition of its summer market, which will be open every Wednesday and Thursday, featuring a diverse selection of stalls offering design products, fashion, accessories and home décor items.

• ES CALÓ WIND SERIES // (July 31st) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s’Arenal (+ info)

Description: The sixth session of this sports circuit for the Open Foil, Windsurf Slalom and Wingfoil classes, which will gather sailors from different clubs of the islands, starts.  

• ARA MALIKIAN // (July 31st) – Organized by: Port Adriano (+ info)

Description: Lebanese violinist Ara Malikian, renowned for blending genres such as rock, flamenco and tango, will be one of the highlights of the Port Adriano Music Festival, where he will give one of the opening performances of this year’s concert series.

• TONY HADLEY // (August 1st) – Organized by: Port Adriano (+ info)

Description: Tony Hadley, one of the most iconic voices in British pop, will be one of the headline acts at the Port Adriano Music Festival, where he will give the second and final performance of this year’s concert series.

• MOORING FISHING // (August 1st) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Portitxol (+ info)

Description: The club will kick off its summer festivities with a traditional anchored fishing event, a technique in which a boat is secured to the seabed using an anchor, allowing participants to fish from a fixed position at a specific location.

• VOLANTÍ // (August 1st) – Organized by: Club Nàutic C’an Picafort (+ info)

Descripción: The club is holding another volantí fishing event, a traditional technique that involves lowering a weighted fishing line fitted with a lead sinker at the end and several hooks baited with natural bait.

• MUJERES AL TIMÓN // (August 1st) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (+ info)

Description: The club is hosting another edition of this fishing event, where women take the helm.

• SOPAR A LA FRESCA // (August 1st) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s’Arenal (+ info)

Description: Club members will once again enjoy a very special evening filled with music, tradition and a wonderful atmosphere.

• 44TH COPA DEL REY MAPFRE // (from August 1st to the 8th) – Organized by: Real Club Náutico de Palma (+ info)

Description: Around one hundred boats will gather in the Bay of Palma to compete in one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic regattas.

• CHILDREN PARTY // (August 2nd) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s’Arenal (+ info)

Description: The youngest members of the club will enjoy activities such as scuba diving, paddle surfing, windsurfing, canoeing and water castles.

• NORTH SAILS SUMMER SERIES // (August 5th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic s'Arenal (+ info)

Description: The sixth round of the club’s social regatta league for cruising yachts and B/One boats gets underway.

• LUIS HOMAR MEMORIAL // (from August 6th to the 7th) – Organized by: Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx (+ info)

Description: Athletes from the Optimist, ILCA, 420 and Cadet classes will gather in the waters of Andratx to compete in a new edition of this traditional regatta.

• WATER GUNS BATTLE // (August 7th) – Organized by: Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (+ info)

Description: The club is organising this water pistol battle for people of all ages.

Description: Raceboard sailors will complete a course from Fornells, sailing around the islet before returning to the starting point.

IBIZA

• FESTES DE LA TERRA TROPHY // (from August 3rd to 4th) – Organized by: Club Náutico Ibiza (+ info)

Description: ILCA class faces the first session of this regatta.

• FESTES DE LA TERRA TROPHY // (from August 6th to 8th) – Organized by: Club Náutico Ibiza (+ info)

Description: The regatta comes to an end with the Optimist class races.
