AGENDA from August 22nd to 31st: final countdown for the 61st Gran Día de la Vela - Bufete Frau

To help you make the most of what the Mediterranean has to offer this week, here’s a roundup of the most notable events taking place.

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 23rd, over half a thousand sailors from eight autonomic communities will gather in the Club Nàutic s’Arenal to participate in the emblematic Gran Día de la Vela - Bufete Frau, an event that will have tests for Optimist, 420, ILCA 4, IQ Foil and Techno 293 classes and regattas for ORC cruisers and Lateen Sailing.

MALLORCA

Description: The Maritime Museum of the Port of Sóller gathers from July 11th to September 28th the pictoric project that Alberto Baraya has developed aboard the Brandó, a traditional Mallorcan llaüt.

Description: The 52 SUPER SERIES fleet gathers in Puerto Portals to compete in the fourth event of the competition.

Description: Optimist class sailors gather in Andratx to participate in this regatta.

• CORMORÁN TROPHY // (from August 22nd to 23rd) – Organized by: Reial Club Nàutic del Port de Pollença (+ info)

Description: Over 40 ships will participate in this prestigious regatta for historical boats. 

• 10TH ILLETAS SWIM CROWWING // (August 23rd) – Organized by: CDSCM (+ info)

Description: Members of the Sporting and Sociocultural Military Centre of Mallorca will participate in the 10th edition of the swim crossing around the island of Illetas, a 1.500 metres journey.

• MALGRATS ISLANDS ROUNDABOUT // (August 23rd) – Organized by: Canoeing Balearic Federation (+ info)

Description: The federation in collaboration with Calvià’s Council, organizes a canoe journey from the beach of Santa Ponça for Juveniles, Benjamins and Youth

Description: Over 500 athletes will participate in the 61st edition of this event for 420, ILCA 4, IQ Foil and Techno 293, ORC Cruisers and Lateen Sailing.

Description: Emblemática prueba de natación en aguas abiertas que tendrá lugar en la playa de Es Caló y cuyos beneficios irán destinados a la asociación ELA Balears.

Description: The club organizes a journey from the beach of Sa Ràpita to Ses Covetes in paddle surf, canoe or kayak.
