Almost twelve years ago, the Ocean Film Tour committed itself to an idea that it has remained faithful to ever since. The wild and fascinating oceans are both a habitat and a lifeline, and they are under threat of extinction.

This driving force, which has been part of OCEAN’s DNA from the very beginning, has created a ripple effect in every programme, every event and throughout more than twelve years. This new edition brings stories of overcoming adversity, personal challenges, life stories, ingenuity and humour, set against the unique and demanding backdrop of the deepest places and most extreme climates on the planet.
Once again, the festival gives films a platform, an audience and a voice to people whose stories deserve to be heard: stories coming from places such as South Africa, Scotland and Hawaii that inspire, impress and deserve to be shared.
The Spanish premiere will take place in 2026 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, close to World Oceans Day, and will be followed by more than 19 events on the Spanish tour calendar and almost 250 across Europe. The event will also return to Ibiza for the second time on Sunday, September 13, at 6:00 p.m. (Aficine Eivissa), with an exclusive one-off screening as part of its Spanish tour.
With the collaboration of various public and private organisations, non-profit associations and media outlets, five documentaries specially edited for the occasion will be screened in their original language with Spanish subtitles, as well as sign language, featuring some very special protagonists. The event will also include an extraordinary prize draw and will have a total running time of approximately 150 minutes.
