Gabriel Masfurroll has died this Friday, December 13th, leaving a deep mark on diverse topics such as healthcare, social integration and, in a very special way, sailing.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!Convinced that sailing had to be an integration and freedom tool, Masfurroll was a key figure in boosting adapted sailing program of the Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx (CVPA). Thanks to his enthusiasm, leadership and ability to move wills, the club carried out projects that today allow people with functional diveristy to sail with autonomy and dignity, turning the port of Andratx into a referent of inclusive sailing.
This committment with the integration had its deepest root in Mi Fundación Alex, probably the most important project of the Masfurroll-Cortada family. The foundation was created in memory of his second son, Álex, and it boosts projects focused on improving health and social integration.
The yearly regatta Alex Rumbo a Ti adquired a special meaning in this setting, a regatta created also in memory of his son and celebrated in waters that Masfurroll considered a predilect place. The regatta transcended the sports side to turn into an integration, solidarity and hope symbol, aligned with the values boosted by Mi Fundación Alex.
In tandem, Masfurroll developed a prominent business trajectory. Founder of USP Hospitals and Clínicas Mi Group, he was pioneer in the transformation of private healthcare, adding an innovating and deeply human vision He also had a tight relationship with the FC Barcelona, where he contributed to opening a path for young talents, Leo Messi amongst them.
Recognized with Sant Jordi's Cross, Masfurroll was, before anything, a humanitarian committed with society.
