The start is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10th. The fleet will then begin the circumnavigation of Mallorca, with the direction to be decided the day before once the weather forecasts have been analyzed. The organizers will communicate this decision to the skippers during the pre-race briefing.
Among the entries, Guaguanco IV, campaigned by Thierry Lallemand, stands out as it will defend the title won in the previous edition.
The event is part of the II Interclubs A3 Circuit, together with the 300 Millas A3 Trofeo Grefusa, organized by Club Náutico Moraira and held last January, and the Columbretes A3 Regatta Trofeu Aedas Homes, organized by Club Nàutic Vilanova and scheduled for June 5 to 7.
The Volta a Mallorca A3 is one of the most technically demanding races on the RCNP offshore calendar, both because of the distance and because of the short-handed format, which requires teams to manage watches, strategy, and wind shifts precisely throughout the course around the island.
The competition pays tribute to Jaume Binimelis, the RCNP’s historic commodore, who promoted the first edition of the Volta a Mallorca A3 and was known throughout his career as a firm supporter of offshore racing. Thanks to his drive and persistence, a way of understanding competitive sailing was preserved that is now thriving across the Mediterranean.
