A new era for Port d’Andratx

After more than two decades marked by legal appeals, court rulings, and public tenders, a historic chapter comes to a close today as the Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx definitively vacates the facilities it had occupied.

Marina Port Andratx begins a new phase under the management of IPM Group, joining the network of marinas and shipyards the group operates across the Balearic Islands and mainland Spain.

The story began in 2002, when, after the expiry of its initial concession, the club’s facilities were put out to tender in 2006. The Andratx-based entity secured a new 30-year concession through the public tender. However, the ruling was not final: following a lengthy legal process, IP3M Group challenged the decision and, in 2017, obtained a favourable Supreme Court ruling granting it the right to operate the facilities.

Over the past eight years, both the club and IP3M Group have filed various appeals, culminating today in the official transfer of the concession.

Located in the natural harbour of Andratx, one of the most emblematic bays in the Mediterranean and surrounded by the Serra de Tramuntana, Marina Port Andratx will offer 547 berths for vessels up to 30 metres in length. Its scale allows for close and personalised management within an environment deeply integrated into the maritime and social life of Port d’Andratx.

This new stage is accompanied by the official adoption of a new name: Marina Port Andratx. Alongside this rebranding comes a new logo and refreshed corporate identity inspired by the marina’s surroundings. The redesign reflects the intention to establish a strong and coherent identity, symbolised by the local lighthouse, reinforcing its positioning as a nautical-sports port and aligning its communication with the group’s management standards and values.

The project maintains continuity with the professional team that has managed the marina until now, ensuring operational stability and in-depth knowledge of the port. The integration into IPM Group will strengthen the management structure and create internal synergies, ensuring a smooth and coordinated transition.

This will be reinforced through increased sporting and social activity, promoting regattas and sea-related events, creating gathering spaces for the nautical community, and fostering active integration of the marina into the life of Port d’Andratx.

The group’s growth is based on a model focused on operational excellence, environmental respect, and a stable, long-term development vision.

With this addition, IPM Group consolidates its presence in the Balearic Islands, where it already manages Marina Port de Mallorca, STP Shipyard Palma, Marina Ibiza, Marina Port Ibiza, Varadero Ibiza and Marina Port Mahón. The group also operates facilities in mainland Spain, including Marina Port Valencia, Varadero Valencia, and Monzó Yacht Painting.
