YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The project, financed with European funds, has complied with the community requirements, creating a natural environment with dunes of low visual impact, the planting of palm trees and drought-resistant flora, and a system for collecting and using water to reduce the use of drinking water.
The dunes have been delimited by planting reeds and other species. The maximum height of the dunes does not exceed 80 centimetres, which avoids visual impact. Thus, from the Seafront Promenade and the terraces of the front-line establishments, the landscape and the view of the sea are not obstructed. Forty-eight palm trees have been planted in small oases.
A rainwater collection system has been installed along the promenade, which is processed on site in small treatment plants. The water obtained is used to irrigate the dune vegetation. The showers are equipped with footbaths that are supplied with salt water extracted from the water table of the beach itself. These measures are intended to reduce the consumption of drinking water from the ordinary network as much as possible.
The works have a grant of 4 million euros from the Next Generation EU Funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, and the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of the Balearic Islands through Illes Balears Sostenibles. Thanks to the ITS (Sustainable Tourism Tax) funds, an additional 1 million euros will be provided.
