The Laboratory of Marine Investigation and Aquiculture (Limia), placed in the port of Andratx, works on the creation of a species bank of fishing interest to characterize local products and avoid fraud.

In her guided visit Prohens has been accompanied by Agriculture, Fishing and Natural Environment councilor, Joan Simonet, and Andratx’s mayoress, Estefanía Gonzalvo, amongst other authorities.
In a message published in her account in the X social media, the autonomic president has pointed out that Limia is the “only centre in the Balearics where they investigate with alive marine organisms, something crucial to protect our sea and guarantee the future of the fishing field”.
“A pride seeing the labor of the professionals that develop tens of projects of investigation of great environmental, economic and social value, such as the creation of a species bank of fishing interest to characterize local products and avoid fraud”, she has pointed out.
