The Balearic nautical market continues to grow

In the charter market, the Balearic Islands lead with 27 registrations, compared with 15 in Alicante and 13 in Barcelona.

So far this year, 69 recreational boats have been registered in the Balearic Islands, representing a 4.5% increase compared with the first two months of 2025, when 66 registrations were recorded. This result places the archipelago well above the national average and gives it a 14.7% share of total boat registrations in Spain during that period, according to the recreational boat registration report published by the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), based on data from the Directorate General of the Merchant Marine.

Meanwhile, across Spain as a whole, registrations have fallen by 1.3% by the end of February, reaching 468 units registered, compared with 474 a year earlier. The Balearic Islands continue to lead the national market at the start of the year, followed by Murcia with 56 units and Barcelona with 40.

In the charter market, the islands are also in first place with 27 registrations, ahead of Alicante with 15 and Barcelona with 13. At the national level, the charter segment shows 118 registrations so far this year, representing a 5.6% year-on-year decline, but still the best result recorded in recent months.

These figures reinforce the upward trend of the Balearic nautical market, already observed at the end of January, when registrations increased by 34.8% compared with the same month of the previous year.
