The Ministry of Labour, Public Administration and Social Dialogue continues to make progress in developing the Sustainability Pact. Today, the Director General for Social Dialogue and Economic Transition, José Antonio Caldés, and the Managing Director of the Balearic Agency for Digitalisation, Cybersecurity and Telecommunications (IB Digital), Miquel Cardona, chaired the first of the meetings scheduled for this month of February. Yesterday’s meeting, held on 4 February, was the second session dedicated to beach monitoring. Representatives from the Directorate General for Tourism, AETIB, the Calvià Town Council, island councils, trade unions, and business associations attended.

The Sustainability Pact calendar intensifies this February, with four more meetings planned to continue advancing issues such as the Strategic Projects Accelerator Unit (Friday the 6th), the ITS (Wednesday the 11th), the circular economy and energy (Wednesday the 18th), and the socially responsible certification (Friday the 20th). A second meeting on mobility is scheduled for 4 March.

So far, within the framework of the Sustainability Pact, led by the Directorate General for Social Dialogue and Economic Transition, a total of 102 proposals have been addressed out of the 544 submitted through the Pact’s public participation platform.

Yesterday, the Managing Director of IB Digital presented the Smart Balearic Territory project, which includes the development of beach monitoring. This tool will also have predictive capabilities, making it possible to anticipate beach conditions not only in real time, but also in the future.
